Learning Skills Examples,

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THIS COURSE?
As a student in this course you will be expected to:
  1. Try Your Best – Trying your best means doing your homework, completing assignments, studying on a regular basis, getting involved in class and seeking help when required.
  2. Be Respectful – Use of profane language, put-downs to yourself or others or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  3. Be Ready To Learn – You must bring with you to each class: paper, pen, pencil, eraser, ruler, scientific calculator and completed homework/assignments.
  4. Be Punctual –When you are late not only have you possibly missed an important part of the lesson, but you have also acted as a disturbance to your classmates and teacher when you enter. Repeated lateness will result in appropriate consequences such as a conference, a phone call home, work duty and the development of a preventative action plan.
  5. Be Present – Due to the high volume of material taught in this course, it is highly recommended you be present for EVERY CLASS. It is expected you will be caught up in notes and homework BEFORE class begins if you happen to be absent.
  6. Be Safe –  See Lab Safety Rules Handout for more details
